The Falcons lost another close battle in front of the hometown crowd Friday evening, a blow-for-blow throwdown versus the Estrella Foothills Wolves that ended in a narrow 42-34 victory for the visiting team.
A decidedly high-scoring affair, the game began with Estrella marching down the field and capping off their opening drive with a run that ate up half of the field and put the Wolves up 7-0 within the first several minutes of play. The Falcons answered back immediately, however, offering up a kickoff return that spanned the entirety of the field, making the game 7-6.
Play went back and forth with Estrella managing to pull ahead 21-14 by the end of the first half. The Wolves remained in charge after the third quarter, too, up just 28-26 heading into the final 10 minutes of the game.

The fourth quarter was an all out war with Estrella Foothills eventually pulling ahead 42-26. The Falcons weren't done fighting, however, as they managed to follow up another touchdown with a successful onside kick, giving Fountain Hills control of the ball with just 3:07 left on the clock and a possible tied ballgame in site.
They never made it further than the Wolves' 31-yard line, however, eventually turning the ball over as the Wolves rode out the clock to its 42-34 conclusion.
The Falcons move to a 2-2 season with this loss and are set to play Wickenburg on the road next Friday night, Sept. 27, with a kickoff set for 7 p.m.
