I am voting for Linda Kavanagh for her third term as mayor of our town. Consider how successfully she has taken us financially through the last four years of the recession. She did this with prudent management and kept the town mean and lean; at the same time continuing to maintain all of our outstanding services, parks and properties.
Our roads, as I always have said, would continue to be replaced and repaired by bonds, not by new taxes. Linda kept it that way. She does “not back” a town primary tax. The last time we voted down this bad tax, it was by 70 percent.

I am also voting for Cecil Yates, Tim Rawlings and Art Tolis. They, in my opinion, are not tax and spend candidates. They are also against a town primary tax. This tax not only raises for home and rental units, it raises all the cost of doing business here, from health care to buying a pizza. All of the business people that rent or own the properties they do business from must pass it on to their customers.
Our revenues have continued to grow over the past two years. With the building of the nursing home on Paul Nordin Pkwy, and the approval of 400 apartments and all first-floor stores, the completion of The Avenue of The Fountains, will bring in new revenues and customers. New homes and condos in Firerock and other plats add to our growth in revenues.
The candidates that are in favor of a town tax and raising existing ones have a saying about how well the town is doing, “We don’t talk about things we don’t talk about.” Please do not vote for candidates that want a town primary tax.
