Founder of Messinger Mortuary honored by Scottsdale Mayor

Paul Messinger proclaimed Scottsdale Historian Emeritus

For his years of service, volunteerism and dedication to the preservation of Scottsdale’s history, Paul Messinger was recently proclaimed Scottsdale Historian Emeritus by Scottsdale Mayor David D. Ortega.

Messinger came to Scottsdale as a young man to work on the family farm at the corner of Miller and Indian School Roads. He graduated from Scottsdale High School and married his high school sweetheart, Cora Ross.

Messinger served in several roles throughout his career including as Scottsdale city council member, a three-term state legislator and even operated the first ambulance service in Scottsdale.
