Fountain Hill resident drops 55 lbs., earns state honor

Annette Burzynski takes home TOPS title

After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, 71-year-old Annette Burzynski found it difficult to do basic chores around the house.

From sitting to standing and walking around the house, Burzynski was exhausted.

Burzynski is diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome, a disease where the body’s immune system attacks the glands that produce tears and saliva, leading to dry eyes and mouth, as well as other symptoms like fatigue and joint pain.
