Fountain Hills approves proposed school budget

FHUSD allocated money for special education contractors

The Fountain Hills Unified School District (FHUSD) governing board approved the proposed budget for fiscal year 2025 on Tuesday, June 18.

Tyler Moore, a financial consultant with True Professionals LLC, and Chris Hartmann, FHUSD’s new financial director, broke down the budget for the board members. Moore explained that in the two weeks since he presented the proposed budget, the state legislature had approved a state budget.

The Arizona legislature exempted the Aggregate Expenditure Limit (AEL). Without the exemption of the AEL, FHUSD’s budget would have been reduced by 16%.
