The traditions of the holiday season return to the Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery, which invites the community to take part in its upcoming events.
On Friday, Nov. 28, the gallery Christmas tree will come to life with an array of ornaments, each one created by a gallery artist. There will be over 100 ornaments for purchase.
All day on Friday, Dec. 5, the gallery will host its holiday-themed art and shopping event, Yuletide Treasures, serving up artist-decorated cookies from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The gallery will remain open through 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, for the popular Stroll in the Glow event, happening along the Avenue of the Fountains.
Along with offering sweet treats to gallery visitors, several artists will participate in the gallery’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest and visitors will be encouraged to vote for “Best of Show.”
Art demonstrations held weekly
The Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery will also hold an art demonstration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, led by mixed media artist Gloria Sanchez.
In 1980, Gloria discovered Swarovski crystals and has used them for wood inlays to mixed media.
“I love the idea of creating art with dimension,” Sanchez said. “Combining mixed media and fantasy gives me the opportunity to do that.”
The gallery is located at 16858 E. Avenue of the Fountains and is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
