Fountain Hills baseball bounces back on the road

Falcons face No. 3 Northwest next week

Fountain Hills High School baseball head coach Bob Langer said the Falcons put themselves in a bad position following their last two home losses, but they’ve shown signs of progress in their last two away games.

The Falcons (6-3) were ranked No. 14 in the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) initial rankings. Langer said the 5-2 loss to No. 19 ALA Ironwood (5-4) on March 19 and the 7-5 loss to No. 16 Show Low (5-3) on Saturday, March 23, cost the team four or five ranking spots per loss.

“The two home games that we lost, ALA and Show Low, those were bad losses,” Langer said. “Those set us back when the rankings came out today, and the way I see it now is we’re going to win a couple of big games. We’re going to have to play better.”
