The Fountain Hills High School baseball team finished with a top-10 ranking for the second year in a row, something the Falcons haven’t done since the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
They went 5-3 in the first month of the season, and the No. 8 Falcons lost two games at home during that stretch that fueled them for the rest of the regular season. After losing 5-2 to No. 22 ALA-Ironwood and 7-5 to No. 16 Show Low, the Falcons went 6-2 and outscored their opponents 79-21.
The Falcons’ top three pitchers gave them a chance in every game. Senior Kyan Taylor threw 90 strikeouts this year, which was the third most in the conference and 14th best in the entire state. Taylor received an All-Region first team nod, and fellow senior pitcher Lucas Williams was named to the All-Region second team.
