The Fountain Hills High School beach volleyball team didn’t miss a beat this season, despite not knowing who their head coach was until just before the season began.
Although head coach Jimmy Belluscio joined late, the Falcons still went 9-3 in the regular season and hosted the first round of playoffs as the No. 8 seed. Last year the Falcons went 10-3, and finished No. 8.
The Falcons won their first two matches and then fell 3-2 to No. 17 Deer Valley (6-5) on Feb. 26. The Falcons won their next four matches 5-0, and they continued their winning streak win a 4-1 win over No. 13 Gilbert Chrisitan (8-5) and a 3-2 win over No. 6 Saguaro (10-2) on March 25.
