Fountain Hills board agrees to join EVIT suit

The Fountain Hills Unified School District has become one of at least eight East Valley school districts in Maricopa and Pinal counties to take legal steps to stop what some East Valley administrators say are harmful proposed East Valley Institute of Technology reductions.

The FHUSD Governing Board, at a special Sept. 11 meeting, met in executive session for about 35 minutes, then voted 4 -0 to hire the law firm of Osborn Maledon, P.A. as special counsel to the district for “EVIT Satellite IGA.”

In a separate action, the board voted 4-0 to “approve the direction given to the board’s legal counsel during the executive session.”
