Fountain Hills Botanical Garden celebrates 50 years

Founded, maintained by volunteers

Of the hundreds of people who buzz in and out of town on Fountain Hills Boulevard every day, most probably pass by without noticing a small parking lot with a medal sign that signifies the entrance to the Fountain Hills Botanical Garden.

The garden offers a desert respite adjoining a residential neighborhood.

In the early 1970s Jayne Haynes came to Fountain Hills as a transplant from Ohio. She had an innate interest in gardening and found the desert flora fascinating.
