The Fountain Hills High School boys basketball team lost 56-44 at home in the first round of playoffs on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
The No. 12 Falcons (13-5) drew a familiar region opponent in the first round, No. 21 Scottsdale Christian (8-8). The Falcons beat the Eagles 59-38 at home on Dec. 13 and lost on the road 63-50 to Scottsdale Christian on Feb. 2.
The Falcons took an early lead but fell behind 13-7 at the end of the first quarter. Scottsdale Christian went on a 7-0 run to start the second quarter and took a 12-point lead into halftime. Fountain Hills junior Matthew Heaney made a three-pointer with nine seconds left to make it 28-16.
