Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills is holding a Vacation Bible School later this summer to help local youth socialize, have fun and become closer to God.
The camp takes place from July 20-22 at the church’s social hall and religious education room. The camp is themed after the rainforest as campers, who range from kindergarten to fifth grade, will “explore the nature” of God over three days. The camp grounds will be decorated with a rainforest theme, and each day of the camp will be themed around a different concept in the Bible.
“On Monday we’ll be talking of creating, that God is our creator. On Tuesday, the theme is The Good Shepherd, God is love,” Ascension Church catechist Bernadette Hanlon said. “And on Wednesday, we will be talking about the Bible story of Zacchaeus.”
