Anyone looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss is invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.

Anyone looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss is invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Fountain Hills Rotary club hosts speakers

The Fountain Hills Rotary Club will continue its speaker series Tuesday, Sept. 17, with a presentation from Insurance Consultant Keith Gilbert.

The topic is “Medicare 101.”

Held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave., the Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meets at 4 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Community Center contract bridge winners posted

Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.

Winners from Aug. 16 include Peter Maciejewski in first place, Merry Hill Klein in second place and in third place, newcomer Catherine Marco.

Winners from Aug. 21 include Catherine Marco in first place, Luverne Parrish in second place and Gerd Brinkman. 

Sunset Kiwanis supports the community

The Sunset Kiwanis Club is looking for new members to join the club.

The club meets the first and third Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The Sunset Kiwanis club sponsors the FHHS Key Club, the blood drive, Feed the Children and more.

Al-Anon holds regular meetings

Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.

The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.

Shepherd of the Hills is located at 16150 E. El Lago Blvd.

Botanical Garden seeks volunteers

The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden seeks volunteers to join its cause to keep the trail in good condition for all to use.

The garden requires stewardship from the community to keep the trail accessible to all.
