Fountain Hills Woodworkers meeting

Fountain Hills Woodworkers meet Saturday, Jan. 13, for a presentation on the challenges of a “woodturning shop” in a small space.

Free to join, those interested in woodworking are invited to send an email to kim.colenso@cox.net for information on meeting time and location.

Meetings are typically held September through May with some meetings supporting sessions for local non-profit organizations.

Any non-profit with woodworking needs should contact the club with their needs. One project completed by the club were the picnic tables in the Community Garden. The garden group provided the materials and the club built them at no charge.

Botanical Garden seeks volunteers

The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden is looking for volunteers to join its cause to keep the trail in good condition.

The summer heat affected the local plants, trees and shrubs with many Saguaro cacti snapping off and agaves dying from their centers, requiring stewardship from the community to keep the trail accessible to all.

For more information, reach out to Judy Dragiewicz at 480-837-2800.
