The Fountain Hills Rotary Club begins its speaker series Tuesday, Oct. 21, when Larry Horton, past Rotary district governor will speak.

Held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave., the Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meets at 4 p.m. every first and third Tuesday of the month.

Rotary Club hosts speaker

The Fountain Hills Rotary Club begins its speaker series Tuesday, Oct. 21, when Larry Horton, past Rotary district governor will speak.

Held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave., the Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meets at 4 p.m. every first and third Tuesday of the month.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly welcomes newcomers

Those looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss are invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.

Fountain Hills Women’s Club meets Oct. 15

The Fountain Hills Women’s Club will hold its next catered luncheon at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Community Center.

Owner of Ally Spine Center Christopher Condon will present and information will be shared on the club’s fundraiser, service projects, social events and more.

The cost is $30 for members and guests, payable by cash or check to FHCCA. RSVP by Friday, Oct. 10, to Carol Goyena at 480-825-1084 or carolgoyena@gmail.com.

Al-Anon holds regular meetings

Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.

The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.

Shepherd of the Hills is located at 16150 E. El Lago Blvd.

Community Center contract bridge winners posted

Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.

Winners from Oct. 3 include Richard Rasmussen in first place, Merry Hill Klein in second place and Cathy Marco in third place.

Winners from Oct. 8 include Charlotte Ashbrook in first place, Bob Tong in second place and Gerd Brinkman in third place.

Botanical Garden seeks volunteers

The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden seeks volunteers to help carry out its mission to preserve, maintain and share the botanical, geological and historical significance of this special place.

Volunteers can participate in a number of roles including preservation and trail management, leadership and officer roles, programming, marketing and education.

The Garden requires stewardship from the community to keep it accessible to all. For more information, contact contactfhdbg@gmail.com.
