Fountain Hills Coalition discusses mental health, substance abuse prevention

Arizona Youth Survey ’22 analyzed

In a press conference nearly two years ago, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy called attention to a National Youth Mental Health Crisis that has led to unprecedented levels of suicide, especially among young girls.

This epidemic has sneaked into towns and cities throughout the country including Fountain Hills.

Youth mental health and drug prevention were the major talking points at the most recent Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth Coalition meeting which analyzed the 2022 Arizona Youth Survey (AYS) administered to a statewide sample of eighth, 10th and 12th grade students every two years.
