Fountain Hills council approves $53 million budget for FY26

Passes on 6-1 vote with Councilmember Allen Skillicorn dissenting

Fountain Hills Town Council has approved a final budget plan for the FY2025/2026 totaling $53.4 million dollars. The budget was approved on a 6-1 vote with Councilmember Allen Skillicorn casting the no vote.

Finance Director Paul Soldinger reported the General Fund budget, highlighting day-to-day operations for the town, is $24.9 million for the year. That is an increase of about 4% over the current fiscal year about to close out.

Soldinger said the budget is $1 under the cap for the town’s budget limitation of about $36 million. There are exclusions from the expenditure limitation rules including the capital projects fund, grants and other specific expenditures that allow the budget number to be higher.
