Fountain Hills council debates Community Center fees

Discussion held at work session with no action

Formal action is not expected until October, but it appears the Fountain Hills Town Council will not change the current 50% discount offered to local non-profit organizations pay in fees for use of the Community Center.

However, it does appear there was some support for increasing a flat fee for meeting optional extras such as audio-video and equipment, and coffee service. That fee is currently $25 for each item requested. This includes projectors and screens, flat screen television monitors, microphones and speakers. The discussion proposed this fee be bumped to $30.

Community Services Director Kevin Snipes said the objective of the discussion is to determine an acceptable fee for local nonprofit organizations to pay for using the Community Center. The current fee is 50% of the standard in the annual fee schedule adopted by the council.
