Fountain Hills council hears budget objectives for court

Security highlights goals for next fiscal year

During a day-long retreat on Dec. 5, Fountain Hills Town Council members were told the town’s municipal court is in need of security features to meet the standards of the Arizona Administrative Office of the Courts.

Fountain Hills Municipal Court Administrator Joanna Elliot told the council that the state conducted a security assessment of the court in April this year. She said the recommendations of that report include tinting windows where the court is located in Town Hall, installing protective bollards on the exterior of the building where the court is located, security personnel and screening of those entering the court.

Elliot said she has been working to collect information on obtaining the security items and potential costs.
