After a heated discussion at its Sept. 17 regular session, the Town Council rejected a motion to appoint Councilwoman-elect Gayle Earle to fill out the remainder of the term of Councilwoman Sharron Grzybowski, who resigned her seat earlier this month.
The council deadlocked 3-3 on the vote, which defeated the motion made by Councilwoman Hannah Toth.
Councilman Allen Skillicorn introduced the item saying he believes the council should have an odd number to avoid deadlocked votes so business can get done.
