Fountain Hills council member seeks ban of license plate reading cameras

No cameras currently operating in town

Fountain Hills Councilman Allen Skillicorn requested to draft an ordinance addressing license plate reading cameras during a discussion after the council’s regularly scheduled agenda on Sept. 15.

Skillicorn requested the regulation of license plate reading cameras be brought for a future agenda item during the council’s Sept. 1 meeting in which Councilmembers Hannah Larrabee and Rick Watts offered a second. He brought the topic to attention again, asking to work directly with the town attorney, Jennifer Wright, on drafting said ordinance. His motion was backed by Vice Mayor Gayle Earle and Councilmember Hannah Larrabee.

The Town of Fountain Hills currently does not have any license plate reading cameras.
