Fountain Hills Council to address 5G, license plate cameras

Also review sale of town parcels, other ordinances

The Fountain Hills Town Council will address its wireless telecommunications ordinances, in addition to the addition of a potential ordinance for license plate reading cameras, proposed by Councilman Allen Skillicorn.

A second draft of Chapter 17, which relates to telecommunications, was recommended for council after approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission in September, with outside consultation from McCollough Law Firm. The draft deals with regulating small cell wireless facilities and was expanded to include definitions, design standards and review procedures.

Meanwhile, chapter 16 pertains to small cell wireless facilities in town rights-of-way. This, too, was in partnership with outside legal counsel in drafting. With approval, ordinances for regulating and installation for the towers will be established.
