Fountain Hills council to consider pausing comments from council, public

Response to FCC rule change proposal also on agenda

The Fountain Hills Town Council will consider a recommendation from Town Attorney Jennifer Wright to suspend council rules of procedure for six months related to the council practice of allowing council members to report on events and activities they have participated in as well as the council call to the public.

Call to the public refers to the time that allows the public to comment on items pertinent to town business that are not on the meeting agenda. Council members do not discuss or typically comment on those statements.

Wright said in her staff report the pause would allow further legal analysis of a complaint by resident Beth Culp and consideration of any possible changes to the rules.
