Fountain Hills DAR prepares for the 250th birthday of America

‘A Toast to Liberty’ fundraiser to be held at the Community Center

The Four Peaks Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has started celebrating the upcoming 250th birthday of America.

DAR is commemorating Constitution Week in a big way and preparing for an early 250th birthday party for America at the Fountain Hills Community Center from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.

The Toast to Liberty fundraiser will include cocktails, dancing and a live five-piece jazz band playing hits from the ‘40s, “USO style,” and many silent auction baskets and an opportunity to raise glasses in a “Toast to Liberty.” The event supports the DAR’s non-profit missions of historic preservation, education and patriotism, according to a press release.

A Constitution Week display was set up at the Fountain Hills Middle School, which included Constitution information sheets, booklets, stickers and wrist bands for the students.

All three Fountain Hills principals read the proclamation and sealed and signed copies were provided by the Mayor and delivered to the schools by the DAR Chapter.

The Chapter’s Regent Moore received a sealed and framed copy of the DAR Constitution Proclamation after it was read by Mayor Friedel at the Sept. 16 Town Council meeting.
