Phase II funding near complete

Fountain Hills’ International Dark Sky Discovery Center has continued steps toward its full opening by 2027, with funding near complete before construction.

IDSDC Community Relations Manager Geoff Yazzetta detailed the center’s progress before the town council, during a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

The 23,000 square-foot center features five main components, which is highlighted by the now complete Dark Sky Observatory that holds the PlaneWave CDK700 telescope.
