FIRE TRANSITION

Fountain Hills dispatch changeover complete

New service got rolling Dec. 12

Fountain Hills Fire Department is now officially being dispatched by the Mesa Regional Dispatch Center (MRDC) as part of the town’s transition to its own fire department after decades of service through a contract with Rural/Metro Corp.

“MRDC did a welcome broadcast for us at 0900 and then for Fort McDowell at 1100,” FHFD Chief Dave Ott said. “We are both now on the same dispatch system, which improves our ability to work together. The transfer has worked well all the way around for FMYN, the MRDC, and us.”

The first call the department received through the new dispatch system was for a fall injury.
