After talking about an override levy election in several meetings over the past few months, the Fountain Hills Unified Governing Board finally took formal action April 15.
The board unanimously decided to start the process to place a seven-year 15% maintenance and operations override extension on the Nov. 3 ballot for residents who reside within FHUSD boundaries.
The board also declared, in concurrence with the Maricopa County election calendar and applicable regulations, the deadline for submitting for-and-against arguments on the override to the county school superintendent at 5 p.m. on Aug. 7.
