The Town of Fountain Hills has a council-approved Downtown Development Strategy and at a Town Council budget planning retreat Feb. 24, there was discussion about implementing the first step – design -- next fiscal year.
For Fiscal Year 2026 staff is proposing $225,000 in the budget for design of the first phase of the project, the east half of Avenue of the Fountains. This is a five-year plan with an estimated total price tag of $10.7 million.
Council members made one thing clear in their discussion. Due to the overall cost and the potential for disruption, they want staff to make sure all stakeholders, including businesses and consumers, have input and understand it might be a difficult development span.
