Fountain Hills Elks support youth initiatives

Local service club funds grants through concession stand sales

It’s been just a few months since the Fountain Hills Elks Lodge received the rights to operate the Golden Eagle Park concession stands, and since then, the Elks has already put the proceeds from snack sales to good use: supporting educators and youth programs that make a difference in the community.

One recipient of the Fountain Hills Elks Youth Project Grant is Fountain Hills High School Digital Communications teacher George Zeliff, who teaches photography, graphic design and yearbook production. Zeliff applied for the grant to help students participate in SkillsUSA competitions, giving them opportunities to grow creatively and compete in statewide photography contests.

Zeliff launched the FHHS SkillsUSA Club, which now includes 20 students who contribute to yearbook production and community events.
