On a rollout to the right, Payson quarterback Isaac Sheer bounced off a would-be Fountain Hills sack, threw a pass that then bounced off the outstretched hand of defender Cole Johnson and landed in the hands of a Longhorn for a touchdown.
That was just a microcosm of the Falcons' season opener as they already trailed their Beeline rivals 35-0 late in the third quarter.
In the first game of the Nick Rock era in Fountain Hills, the Payson Longhorns stampeded their way to a 49-0 road win on Friday night.
