Fountain Hills Fountain celebrates 55 years

Still tallest in country

The Fountain Hills fountain celebrated its 55th anniversary on Monday, Dec. 15.

Debuting in 1970, two years before the first homes, the fountain figuratively built the town and has since remained a symbol and draw to those to the Fountain Hills community.

“It’s the cornerstone of the town,” Town Community Services Director Kevin Snipes said. Snipes is responsible for care and maintenance of the fountain, something he takes pride in.
