The Fountain Hills High School girls basketball team pulled off a come-from-behind victory against the top-seeded team from San Carlos Thursday afternoon, Feb. 27, to earn their ticket to the state championship game.
The local ladies bested San Carlos 62-57 and will go on to compete for the state crown at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, Feb. 28.
The boys played their semifinal game following the girls but, despite their best efforts, fell behind Pima in a low-scoring competition to lose 36-26. Pima held the Falcons to their lowest showing on the scoreboard for the 2025-26 season.
