The Fountain Hills High School golf team has played No. 7 Gilbert Christian three times already this season and are chomping on the Knight’s heels.
In the first meeting, the Falcons lost to Gilbert Christian by 37 strokes. On Thursday, April 4, the Falcons finished six strokes behind them, and they finished only four strokes behind the Knights on Monday, April 8.
“We’ve closed the gap considerably,” head coach Kevin Wilkinson said. “I think the team recognizes that had we played a little bit better, I think we could’ve surpassed them. We have to play better golf. We’ve got way too many double bogies on the card.”
