The Fountain Hills High School golf team came in 12th place at the state championship tournament on Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7.
It was the first time the Falcons qualified as a team for the state championship since 2021. Senior Ethan Schafer led the team and tied for 45th in the tournament. Schafer placed 49th when he went to the championship as an individual last year.
“Going to state as a team was very fun,” Schafer said. “It helped me a lot and was a whole lot less stressful because I knew I had my teammates to help me out.”
