Fountain Hills has added crosswalks for safety’s sake

Mayor Friedel wants motorists, pedestrians to learn, obey the rules

Over the past year, new crosswalks have been striped and installed across Fountain Hills at more than two dozen locations, bringing more convenient connections for walkers and cyclists.

At a recent Town Council meeting Mayor Gerry Friedel asked that staff step up the effort to get the information out to residents regarding the rules that govern the use of crosswalks for both pedestrians and motorists.

“These improvements reflect the town’s continued commitment to enhancing walkability around the community,” town Community Relations Director/PIO Mike Pelton said in a release.
