Head coach Luke Salzman and the Fountain Hills High School wrestling team are prepared to reach new heights this upcoming wrestling season. Salzman will have a seasoned team with some new faces. Salzman has 17 total wrestlers this year with 10 returning from last year.
Salzman said, “We did lose some state placers last year that were seniors including state runner-up Tyler Flynn who is currently wrestling at the University of Concordia in Nebraska. “We also have added girls wrestling to our school and have one girl that has transferred into the district. Ava Bourne, junior, will look to place high and pick up a lot of wins this year. She comes in from Skyline High School coming off a good season last year.”
Returning wrestlers junior Tyler Trapani and senior Yahshua Harris will lead the team in the middle weights at 157 and 144, respectively. These two have been in the program a long time and will lead the team with their experience.
