Bringing in the new year with captivating historical accounts of Southwestern American history, Encore for More’s Speaker Series features resident Dr. John Mack at its next meeting Jan. 10 in the Fountain Hills Community Center.
The title of Mack’s presentation is, “The Selling of the Grand Canyon: The Santa Fe, Harvey Company and The El Tovar.”
Based on his recently published paper in the Journal of the West, Mack recreates for his audience a period in which the nation’s youthful eyes still wondered at the novelty and opportunity of the Grand Canyon.
