Kiwanis K-Kids had its first meeting of the new year at McDowell Mountain Elementary School on Jan. 8. The first topic of discussion involved the group creating a new committee focusing on helping the Fountain Hills community. K-Kids decided to pick three students from the organization to lead the committee.
“For this committee, you need to think about how I can help my community,” said Kiwanis K-Kids leader Marcia Hoenle to the student members. “You could work with Fearless Kitty (Rescue), peanut butter collection for Extended Hands Food Bank or we can make dog toys for the dog shelter.”
