The Fountain Hills Library will host “Ageless Minds: A Holistic Journey to Lifelong Brain Health,” a free three-part series designed to help adults maintain and strengthen their cognitive health.
The first session will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the library’s conference room.
Presented by Karen Willfahrt, NMD, RN, the series explores practical, research-based strategies for supporting brain health at every stage of life, according to a press release. The kickoff session, “Nourish & Nurture the Brain,” will focus on nutrition, mindfulness and mental exercises that promote cognitive sharpness and emotional well-being.

The Fountain Hills Library will host “Ageless Minds: A Holistic Journey to Lifelong Brain Health,” a free three-part series designed to help adults maintain and strengthen their cognitive health.

Presented by Karen Willfahrt, NMD, RN, the series explores practical, research-based strategies for supporting brain health at every stage of life, according to a press release. The kickoff session, “Nourish & Nurture the Brain,” will focus on nutrition, mindfulness and mental exercises that promote cognitive sharpness and emotional well-being.
Willfahrt is a naturopathic physician and registered nurse with more than 25 years in pediatrics.
She earned her BSN in 1977 after training at Mayo Clinic–affiliated hospitals and began her career at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. In 1990–91, she served in hospital support services during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Willfahrt has cared for medically fragile children and adults as a hospice and infusion nurse and has held certifications in Pediatric and Hospice Nursing.
Willfahrt received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2000.
Subsequent sessions set for Sept. 10 and Sept. 17, will build on these concepts, providing attendees with actionable steps to enhance memory and long-term brain resilience.
