Fountain Hills losing ‘Pleasantville’ reputation

OPINION –  In less than a year, Fountain Hills is expected to be welcoming throngs from near and far as the beautiful new International Dark Sky Discovery Center (IDSDC) opens its doors to the public. It would be an understatement to say that it will be a very big deal for our community. I think that we all look forward to visiting the new facility.

Additionally, local businesses are hopeful that the anticipated draw of the new center will pull in many first-timers who might just stick around and visit a local restaurant or even consider what else the town has to offer. Not since our town switched on the now famous fountain for the first time in 1970 has there been such a major attraction as the Dark Sky Center promises to be. The addition of this facility will have a positive impact all around and likely will even give a boost to property values.

Unless.
