After Fountain Hills High School’s marching band had the chance to be in one of the largest Valley events for bands themed around a football game, its director had a chance to reflect on how the opportunity happened.
“Truthfully, getting into the parade wasn’t very exciting,” George Zeliff said about the Fighting Flock of Falcon Fury marching in the Jan. 3 Fiesta Bowl Parade in north-central Phoenix. “I applied online.”
Zeliff said the Fighting Flock was behind another marching band of comparable size to its 20 musicians, and in front of the Arizona All-State marching band.
