Before a crowded council chamber at Town Hall Tuesday, Dec. 3, Mayor Gerry Friedel and Councilmember Gayle Earle were sworn in by Town of Fountain Hills Magistrate Robert Melton.
Two seats remain to be filled officially for the new council term. There is currently a recount going to determine the official results of the council race from the November General Election. Incumbent Councilmember Peggy McMahon is included in that recount, however, by state statute she remains seated until the election results are finalized.
Outgoing Mayor Ginny Dickey made remarks comparing the closure of her time in office to a theater production.
