Two candidates are running for mayor on the town council, with the Fountain Hills' Primary Election on July 21 on the doorstep.
Gerry Friedel is the incumbent mayor vying for reelection, and Councilmember Brenda Kalivianakis is challenging for the position.
While the candidates responded to a series of questions during the forum hosted by the Chamber of Commernce earlier this year, the Fountain Hills Times Independent sent out a questionnaire to learn about the candidates’ thoughts on the challenges the town faces now and in the future. Both candidates sent in their responses.
