On Dec. 18, McDowell Mountain Elementary School will host a education event, where some of the doctors and other medical staff from the Mayo Clinic administration building will teach fourth and fifth grade students about health procedures, importance of living a healthy life and CPR.
Lauren Butler, a first grade teacher at the elementary school shared the main purpose of this event. “They’re gonna have different stations and centers, very hands-on,” Butler said. “They’re going to have stations with about 10 kids and learn many topics that involve health. So, they’re gonna have a station about the heart and lungs. Also talking about vital signs and teaching CPR.”
