Fountain Hills Middle School VFW essay contest

Eli Brandsetter, Whitney Carponelli and Mikaela Smith were named the winners of the Fountain Hills Middle School Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) essay contest Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Carponelli and Smith are eighth grade students, and Brandsetter is in the seventh grade.

The essay contest was organized by the Fountain Hills VFW, hoping to recognize and celebrate the patriotic spirit of the younger generation. The topic of the essay was “What Inspires Me about America.”
