Fountain Hills murals program one step closer after Planning & Zoning ordinance approval

Approved, added ordinance for regulating art

The commission voted 7-0 with contingency that all artists selected reside in Arizona, a mechanism to enforce the integrity of the artwork’s appearance be created and to appoint an art commission to review artwork.

While optimistic about the direction, the commission at large expressed concern over how art may be interpreted and the size of potential artwork on larger exterior surfaces.
