Fountain Hills names October Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Fountain Hills Coincilwoman Peggy McMahon, with Vice Mayor Gayle Earle, presented a proclamation naming October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in town. Dr. Stephanie Lindauer and Dr. Sommer Gunia from HonorHealth received the proclamation during the Oct. 6 town council meeting. McMahon noted that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. The month will provide an opportunity to remember those lost to breast cancer, she added, support those currently affected, celebrate survivors and recognize the dedication of healthcare providers and researchers.
