Fountain Hills retired nurse highlights impact of Arizona Nurse Honor Guard

Nonprofit introduces nursing scholarships

The Arizona-based nonprofit organization that provides comfort to the families of fallen nurses has recently introduced its scholarship program for individuals entering the field of nursing.

The Arizona Nurse Honor Guard is committing $1,000 scholarships to nurses who demonstrate their financial need, academic merit, course of study and supporting documentation that demonstrate their career goals and how it is aligned with the nursing profession.

The Honor Guard awarded its first scholarship in May of 2024 to Dawn Canavan, a nursing student at Estrella Mountain Community College.
