The fifth annual Fountain Hills Peach Market opens Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Tractor Supply Company parking lot at 17130 E. Shea Blvd. The market will run for six weeks through Saturday, Sept. 27, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Featuring tree-ripened Freestone Peaches delivered straight from mountain farms in Utah, the Peach Market is a unique seasonal experience, says Market Manager Betsy Hess, who formed a partnership five years ago with Yvonne Turley, widely known as the “AZ Fruit Lady.”
Turley, her husband, Val, and daughter, Chelsey, deliver fresh produce throughout the Valley in a weekly refrigerated semi-truck.

In addition to peaches, the Turleys bring tomatoes, nectarines and pears each week.
Utah is one of the nation’s top peach-growing states, offering multiple varieties, Hess says, adding that peaches are great for fresh eating, canning or freezing. They are low in calories, sugar and rich in magnesium, potassium and vitamins A and C.

Children will manage their own booths, handle sales and run their businesses with only setup help from parents.
Shoppers are invited to bring reusable bags. Donations of clean plastic grocery bags will be accepted at the Peach Market tent or Noble Bread booth.
Overflow parking is available across the street off Monterey. Market-goers are asked to follow signs for the designated market entrance near Monterey and exit near the store.
Vendor schedules vary, so attendees are invited to follow the Fountain Hills Farmers Market on Facebook for weekly updates.
